Meet Peggy Hawes, RYT
Like many people, Peggy’s journey to wellness began with an injury.
“I have always worked out, but did not always listen to what my body was telling me. I was an avid runner and gym rat for 30 plus years and ended up over-training for a marathon and at 35 I broke my femur after having a stress fracture that went undiagnosed.”
Unable to continue as a runner, Peggy hung up her running shoes and started down a new path.
“With age comes wisdom, and I have started to listen to what my body needed and wanted. I started taking gentle yoga, then practiced hot yoga, and finally found my perfect fit, which is heated power flow vinyasa. This practice is called Journey Into Power or JIP.”
Peggy became fully dedicated to her practice and took steps to advance her education and become a versed yogi.
“I decided to embark on a 200-hour teaching training in Bend, Oregon at Namaspa Yoga in 2015. After many years of dedicated practice, I gained certification in 2023 and completed my 300-hour teacher training at Willamette Valley Power Yoga in Corvallis, Oregon in 2024.”
Peggy now has over 20 years of yoga practice under her belt and is a registered 500-hour yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance with RYT credentials.
A Passion For Wellness
Peggy has a passion for helping others start their own wellness journey.
“I will customize and modify a program that works for your body at the present, which will evolve as you build strength and endurance. Your individualized program will constantly challenge you, but can be adjusted at any time to your needs. My hands-on assisting approach is not rooted in correction but in helping you align your poses in a way that empowers your practice. I’d love to workshop difficult poses with you.”
She offers sessions in her private home studio or on location.
“My studio will be heated to 90 degrees and has space for up to five people if you prefer group sessions.”
Peggy uses her hard-earned experience to lead others through a personalized approach to wellness.
“Through all my years of wear, overwork, injuries, and tear on my body, I have truly found a perfect balance. Grace and patience are my key values. I want to help people reach their fullest potential and show them how yoga can be used to strengthen, stretch, and elongate your muscles.”
She also supplies clients with access to her extensive library of yoga resource materials and offers nutritional coaching.
